Less than a week after an ICC report stressed the need for Zimbabwe Cricket to patch up its differences with former players, allrounder Gavin Ewing confirmed that he had no plans to return to the national side.Ewing, 28, made three Test and seven ODI appearances before he quit international cricket in 2006 after a dispute with the board. Despite a court order ZC to hand over money owed – believed to be around US$10,000 – he insists he has still not been paid.Since then he has played club cricket in England, Scotland and New Zealand, and he has now signed for Carrick Sergus CC in Northern Ireland, on the advice of former Zimbabwe coach Phil Simmons, who is now Ireland’s national coach. Simmons is also in dispute with the board following his dismissal in 2005.
